Form a word (can be a proper name) by using the letters displayed on the dice and by adding other letters from the alphabet. 5. Take a chance- roll the vowel die. 6. Tally score, record and move the dice to the next roller. 7. To end the game, the player with the most points after a predetermined amount of rolls….wins!
Scoring when using quick start rules! Word formed containing consonants in: Red, white and blue (sequence) order………25 points. Blue, white and red (reverse) order…………15 points. Any order (random)…………………………..5 points. If vowel die rolled (strategy and chance involved here): Letter is in your word………………………..10 points. Letter not in your word……………………….-5 points. All three dice displaying the same letter……..50 points, Then……. pass the dice!
Consonant Pain “all in” Rules.
Each person takes a turn to roll the three consonant dice. On each roll, all players try to form a word by adding other letters of the alphabet to the three consonants rolled. 1 point for each letter in the word formed. The longer the word the more points scored. After a predetermined amount of rolls, the person with the most points wins! Bonus points: Place the consonants rolled into the formed word in red, white and blue order(sequence order) = 10 pts. Place the consonants rolled into the formed word in blue, white and red order (reverse order) = 5 pts. Roll the vowel die and if the letter rolled is in the formed word = 5 pts.
Fun Variations of Consonant Pain™ Children under the age of 14 only have to roll two consonant die and the vowel die. Points are awarded as previously stated. The vowel dice will take the place of the middle die when determining sequence or reverse order. Letter(s) can be designated wild cards. If roller is unable to form a word in the allotted time frame, first player clockwise from roller to come up with a word is awarded 5 pts. Some letters can have substitutes, i.e. QU can be substituted for KW, F can be substituted for PH or GH, X can be subbed for CS or KS or vice versa, etc.
